Day 1: Tozeur, Chott El Djérid, and Desert Adventures

In the morning, our team will pick you up at your accommodation to take you on an excursion to discover Tozeur and its mountain oases. You will leave the island via the ferry. Your first stop will be at a café, where your guide will present the program, and then you will continue towards Chott El Djérid, a large salt lake famous for its mirages and color effects, with a photo stop. Afterward, continue to Tamerza, where you will enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the locals! Take the time to visit the mountain oasis and discover Chebika and its waterfall, Tamerza and its large waterfall, and Midès and its large canyons. At the end of the afternoon, your driver will take you on an adrenaline-filled adventure. You will cross the old Dakar Rally track and the Chott El Gharsa salt lake to stop at the famous Ong Jmal site. Conquer the great sand dunes and finally reach Mos Espa, the site considered to be the largest Star Wars setting in Tunisia. Take your time to explore and, above all, don’t miss the sunset over the surrounding dunes. The last visit of the day will be to the Nefta Basket, which you will admire while enjoying a good mint tea! Return to the hotel, check-in, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 2: Douz, Matmata, and Star Wars Sites

In the morning, wake up and enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading to Douz, known as the "Gateway to the Sahara." In Douz, visit the souk, and for those interested, you will have the option to enjoy a camel trek through the sand dunes (optional, payable locally at 10 euros per person). Next, head to Matmata, where you will visit a traditional troglodyte house dug underground. Your host will be happy to serve you rosemary tea, accompanied by honey and olive oil. Take the time to visit the house, admire its unique architecture, and appreciate the simplicity and modesty of its inhabitants! Continue your journey to Sidi Idriss, the filming location of some scenes from the famous Star Wars saga, before taking a break for lunch. After lunch, head to Toujane, an ochre-colored Berber village nestled between two mountains. Admire the panoramic view, then visit the village up close. This village is famous for the manufacture of Berber carpets and honey! Finally, take the road back to the island of Djerba, with your head full of wonderful memories!
